kyes sergery July 31 2009

kye's first day after surgery Aug 1 he was very swollen and they put him on a paralytic and heavy duty pain and sleep med's. The surgery lasted 12 hrs we left him at 7:40am as he strolled in his car to the OR and we couldn't see him til 8pm that night. it was a very long and tiring day for all that waited either at home or at the hospital (just Kevin and I) they took a graph from his left arm and also the vein and put it into his neck after they removed the scar tissue and then did a graph from his leg to cover up the arm. he had tubes from head to toe, including a breathing tube, feeding tube, in both nostrils to prevent scaring, little Doppler's in the neck by the new vein, 2tubes to catch extra blood, 2 iv's and things that go around the legs to prevent a blood clot. He'll be asleep for the next 6 days.

Aug 5 almost got breathing tube out but had a ton of crap in lungs so not today.....tomorrow!

Aug 6. 4pm FINALLY! i got all my tubes out today the scare on the left is where they put in the new vein from my arm. The tubes in my nose are to help so that i wont scare us as easily...they'll come out before i go home.

I've been sleeping for 7 days but man I'm tired still after all that work I've been doing to get the breathing tube out! mom and dad bought me a "Hulk" toy he's resting on my favorite dog.
